New paint colors.....make a color chart!
Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 10:25PM Time is well spent making color charts. It allows us the opportunity to know what mixes we can get from our palette. In the chart below, I selected newer cool colors and mixed them with a few warm colors that I have on my palette. Now I see my options and am ready to paint!
Figure Exercise
Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 03:40PM I was going through my studio and came across this demo exercise on painting figures. This is a great way to simplify figures from a photograph. With tracing paper, trace the shapes with a fine tip black marker and shade the shadows.

KAREN RAMSAY
Redraw the figures on watercolor paper and paint with 2 colors. I used ultramarine blue and raw sienna.
